FALCON MILITARY FAMILIES
At St. Matthew's Catholic School, we are honored to support the brave men and women who serve our nation and the children who inspire us daily. Guided by our mission, we are committed to ensuring that every military-connected student feels at home from the moment they arrive.
As Falcons, we soar together. Our dedicated Military Point of Contact, peer support programs, and strong faith-based community ensure smooth transitions, meaningful connections, and continued growth for every student and family who joins our family.
Admissions

We are honored to welcome military-connected students into our Falcon family. We understand the unique challenges of frequent moves and transitions, and our admissions team is here to make the process as smooth as possible.
We reserve a select amount of seats for military families to make your transition easier.

Falcon Flight Crew

We believe that no student should feel alone when joining a new school community. The Falcon Flight Crew is our peer mentorship program designed to welcome and support new students—especially those from military families—as they transition into life at our school.

Each new student is paired with a Falcon mentor, a trained peer who offers friendship, guidance, and encouragement during the first weeks of school. The Flight Crew helps new Falcons find their way around campus, introduces them to classmates and activities, and makes sure they feel at home in our community. These students are also military children who share a similar experience.
Educational Services

At St. Matthews, we feel that every students deserves the opportunity to find success in the classroom. We offer exceptional student services for Pre-Kindergarten through Eighth Grade. Through individualized support plans, students are eligible to receive support in reading, math and behavior. We are proud to partner with Parentally Placed Private School Program of Duval County Schools to offer services for specific learning disabilities and speech.

Events

Annual Events are held every year to honor our military students and their families. Through events like Purple Up! Month, Special Military Mass and service projects, we show our gratitude and support for those who serve our country, both overseas and on the home front.
Mental Health and Family Resources

Military life can bring unique challenges for both students and families. Frequent moves, deployments, and transitions can affect emotional well-being, and we are committed to walking with our families through these seasons of change.

Our school provides access to counseling, social-emotional support, and faith-based guidance, ensuring that every child feels safe, heard, and valued. We also partner with local and military-connected resources to offer families additional support when needed. Rooted in our Catholic mission of faith, knowledge, and love, we strive to care for the whole child—mind, body, and spirit—so every Falcon can thrive.
